Aqua Technics offer you the latest in pool technology, featuring an extensive range of colours and designs, the highest blister and fade resistance of any pool available, and superior pool strength.

What makes our pools more colourful than others?

Crystite™ What is it?
Crystite™ is the gelcoat we use on our pools to give them their unique colour and beauty. It was developed with the help of one of Australia's foremost research chemists.

How does it work?
Crystite™ chips are encapsulated within a UV stabilised clear resin, and when viewed through water, sparkle and shine to give your pool a 3 D effect which has to be seen to be believed.

How good is it?
As well as outstanding sparkle and colour, Crystite™ has the highest blister and fade resistance of any gelcoat available. The Australian Standard is to test the panels of the pool for 30 days at 80 deg C and inspect for signs of degradation. At Aqua Technics, we test for 60 days at 80 deg C, and still haven't found any degradation. This is twice the time required by the Standard!

Ceramashield™
The problem - Blistering
Swimming pools have to be waterproof to prevent water seeping through the fibreglass structure and damaging the interior surface of the pool, known as blistering. Currently other fibreglass pools are waterproofed by a single layer of epoxy vinyl ester resin. However, research at the Pritchard Institure (UK) has demonstrated that water will eventually seep through the pool structure, blistering the interior surface.

The Solution - CeramaShield™
Over ten years of research has gone into the creation of CeramaShield™ technology. Within the pool walls, there is not one layer of epoxy vinyl ester resin, but two, and sandwiched between the layers is our unique ceramic core. The ceramic core (as well as adding strength to the pool) prevents water from seeping through the structure ensuring it is completely waterproof.

Strength
Thickness
Aqua Technics pools not only have more waterproofing layers than other pools, they are also 33% thicker! The extra thickness provides superior strength to the overall structure of the pool, and effectively eliminates stress fractures or cracking.

Deluxe Rib System
New Zealand soil conditions (eg. white clay) can cause two problems for swimming pools:

  • When the soil contracts (in dry conditions) backfill can slump and the pressure from water inside the pool places increased stress on the pool walls.
  • When the soil expands (wet) additional pressure is placed upon the sides of the pool by the soil reversing the direction of the load. To combat this problem, we have invented a system where the pool walls are more heavily reinforced, meaning they can easily withstand such soil pressures.
